About South Star Security Service Our Mission Statement

The mission of South Star Security Service is to provide reliable, affordable security services to our customers and to use integrity, care and strong leadership to ensure the safety of our clients and their customers and the protection of our customers' property and valuables.

Company History

We are a family owned and operated business established on the principle that all people have the right to a safe environment, free from chaos, crime and potential threat.  Established first in 1998, its services has experienced tremendous growth throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Management Johnny Ayala Principal Owner

Johnny has over 34 years experience in the security and law enforcement industry. Prior to his tenure with South Star Security Service, Johnny served 21 years in law enforcement and is a retired police officer of the City of Pharr, Texas Police Department.  Johnny's experience in the industry ranges from patrol, criminal investigations, and firearms instruction.  He served as a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (S.W.A.T.) for 16 years and is licensended by the Texas Department of Public Safety/Private Security Bureau located in Austin, Texas.

Sylvia Martinez Human Resource Manager

Sylvia manages every element of South Star Security Service's manpower as well as the administration of the customer accounts.  She brings over 10 years in Human Resources and Account Management experience.



Our Values

These values guide employees as they perform their jobs and conduct the business of  South Star every day.  S.S.S.S. has become a stronger and more effective organization by building on these foundation values.

Fundamental Values: Safety:

S.S.S.S' employees are exposed to adverse and threatening environments.  They work in stressful and dangerous settings, but no matter the job, each employee is responsible for making safety an integral part of all work from planning to implementation by following applicable safe work practices and procedures.

Customer Service:

The customer service foundation value reflects S.S.S.S. commitment to continuous improvement in customer service and believes everyone is a customer.  This means anyone who comes in contact with us -- whether a caller, someone who visits our office or employee to employee -- is a customer and should be treated accordingly.  To support this foundation value, all employees are expected to demonstrate customer service with external customers and with one another.  Customer service is important not just because it is a  foundation value but because each interaction we have with someone creates a first and lasting impressions that affects how we do business everyday.  In other words, how we manage these impressions positively or negatively impacts S.S.S.S.


S.S.S.S. relies on integrity for the success of its business.  We recognize that customers want to do business with a company they can trust, thus achieving an ethical culture is an emphasis that is supported by our management and employees.  Our employees display honesty in their work and  are therefore trusted to work independently and unsupervised.  When it comes to integrity, there are no compromises.
